CISBAT 2017 will take place on the campus of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) just outside Lausanne, Switzerland. The lifely city of Lausanne is located on the shores of Lake Geneva and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains as well as numerous cultural treasures.
The combined campuses of EPFL and Lausanne University attract more than 29'000 students from all over the world. With 125 nationalities and 50% of professors from abroad, EPFL is one of the world's most cosmopolitan university campuses.
CISBAT 2017 will take place in the architectural department's SG building, which features a beautiful modern wood panelled auditorium and a luminous poster exhibition space.
On the campus, which received the 1st ISCN Sustainable Campus Award in 2009, architecturally interested visitors will find the Rolex Learning Center of the Japanese architectural practice SANAA, a prime example of innovative emotional architecture, the spectacular Swiss Tech Convention Center , whose façade of stained glass solar windows with dye sensitized solar cells developed by EPFL professor Michael Graetzel is a world novelty, the new ArtLab as well as other highly interesting buildings of a constantly evolving campus.
