Travel to Switzerland

  • Official rules on entering Switzerland.
  • There are currently no entries on the list of countries with a variant of concern and therefore no quarantine requirements for travellers entering Switzerland. Should any be added, then the following will apply: Travellers who have been in a country with a variant of concern in the last 10 days before entering Switzerland and have not been vaccinated or are unable to prove that they have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months, must go into quarantine after entering Switzerland.

Covid-19 related restrictions and rules in Switzerland

Conditions that apply to on-site attendance of CISBAT 2021

According to current rules (25.8.), a COVID certificate has to be requested from all people attending the conference. This certificate provides documentary evidence that you have had a COVID-19 vaccination, have had and recovered from the disease or have recently tested negative. There will be no obligation to wear a mask at the event, however. No new decisions are expected from the Swiss authorities before the conference.

So kindly note:

  • A Covid certificate in the form of a QR code and your ID will be checked by security agents whenever you enter the building, however, there will be no obligation to wear a mask indoors, except for the visits. NEW 24.8.: This is also valid for the lunch on 10 September.
  • If you do not have a COVID certificate (European QR codes and those of other countries are accepted as well), kindly take a test before coming to the conference (PCR valid 72 hours, Antigenic/Serological testing 48 hours). There is a testing site on the EPFL campus; should you want to take advantage of it, we recommend booking your slot in advance: (text in English below French text). PLease note that antigenic tests are free, but PCR tests can be costly.
Note: we have just learnt that Astro Zeneca vaccine certificates may not be accepted.
