What do the fees include?
The basic conference fees for IN-PERSON attendance include
- attendance at all plenary and technical sessions and workshops
- access to virtual conference platform
- visits on EPFL campus
- refreshments, buffet lunches
- for authors: open access publication of accepted papers in IOP's Journal of Physics: Conference Series
- remote attendance (see below), should Covid-19 related restrictions (in Switzerland or in participant's country) make in-person attendance impossible
The basic conference fees for REMOTE ATTENDANCE include
- real-time access to plenary and technical sessions, workshops excluded
- on-screen presentation (filmed) and subsequent real-time interaction with participants, technical connections permitting
- online networking through conference platform
- access to online showroom of all posters and pitch presentations
- authors: open access publication of proceedings in IOP's Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Not included in the basic fee are
- the printed version of the proceedings (limited edition for libraries)
- travel and accommodation costs
Student rates are available to all students including PhD students. The organisers reserve their right to request a proof of student status.
Accompanying persons (non-authors, no documentation, no presentation but in-person, including meals) are required to register as well; however, they may apply for special conditions by email to cisbat@epfl.ch.
The conference day programme is very intense and does not leave much time for networking and discussions. We therefore sincerely recommend taking part in the Evening Networking Event (a dinner cruise on Lake Geneva). 150 spaces available.
Conditions
Full payment by credit card (Visa or Eurocard/Mastercard or Swiss PostFinance Card; Paypal is also possible) at registration, through secured Swisspost online payment service (EPFL Payonline) - or by bank transfer.
All participants - authors and non-authors alike - are required to register and to pay the registration fees. Please note that by submitting a paper the authors agree that at least one of them will attend the conference. Papers for which no author has registered and paid the participation fee by 15 July will not be published even if they have been accepted by the scientific committee.
Cancellation of a conference registration must be made in writing and emailed to cisbat@epfl.ch. Paid registration fees are refundable less a processing fee* if notification of cancellation is received (in writing) by August 8, 2021. Unexcused absence or cancellation after August 8, 2021 will result in forfeiture of the registration fee; a substitute registrant will be accepted however. The conditions apply to both on-site and online participants as well as for the case that the conference should be held as a virtual event.
*) Processing fee: 10 % of the total amount paid.
How to register
To register for the conference and for the evening event, please use the on-line conference management platform, through which you will be able to access all data linked to your conference participation:
- establish a user account (if you have not already done so during abstract submission)
- register
- pay conference fees online by credit card or download your invoice and pay by bank transfer (presenters: payment must be received before July 15)
- if you registered for the evening event, a separate invoice will be issued to you once we are certain that we do not have to cancel it due to possible Covid-19 restrictions.
After-thought registration for the evening networking event is possible depending on the availability of spaces. Please contact Barbara at cisbat@epfl.ch for details.
