Call for papers
CISBAT 2019 invites scientific contributions on research and technological development as well as on particularly innovative case studies in the fields of energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment.
The submission process includes two phases:
1. Abstract submission (double review - preliminary decision poster/oral) - deadline 15 January 2019
2. If the abstract has been accepted, submission of a 6-page paper (single review) - deadline 15 May 2019
Papers will be published in a CISBAT 2019 special issue of IOP's JOURNAL OF PHYSICS Conference Series, an open access publication indexed by Scopus, ICI WEb of Science, Ei Compendex etc. (CC BY Licence).
2. Climate resilient buildings (ecobuildings, retrofit, performance gap)
3. Daylighting & electric lighting (human centric & green lighting)
4. Human & building interaction (user centered systems, behavioral aspects)
5. Building simulation & ICT (design, optimisation, analysis) – IBPSA special session
6. Renewable energy in the built environment (electricity, heating and cooling)
7. Smart buildings & districts (predictive & adaptive control)
8. Data driven methods for the built environment (regional planning, big data and machine learning)
9. Urban climate modelling (building energy demand, outdoor comfort, urban planning)
10. Distributed energy systems (urban energy hubs)
Call for papers schedule
Abstract submission: deadline 15 January 2019
Preliminary acceptance notification for oral or poster presentation and invitation to submit paper: 15 March 2019
Paper submission on acceptance of abstract: deadline 15 May 2019

Final acceptance: 31 July 2019 at the latest
Deadline: 15 January 2019
Topics: see above
Content: summary of new, unpublished, original research
Structure: 1. aim of research 2. scientific methodology 3. results obtained
Format: text only, 450 to 600 words, no images (there is no template)
Submission: through the CISBAT Conference Management System. No specific format required, please just structure the abstract as detailed above; the abstract is copied directly into the submission form.
The abstracts will be evaluated by an international expert panel in a double review procedure. Their acceptance or refusal will be based on several criteria such as quality of content, significance, originality, relevance, clarity of expression. The scientific committee will take a preliminary decision as to the presentation framework of the contributions (oral, poster), to be confirmed subject to the full paper meeting expected standards.
Full paper submission
Authors of abstracts accepted by the scientific committee (oral and poster presentation) are invited to submit a full paper of up to six A4 pages for the conference proceedings. The deadline for paper submission is 15 May 2019. Papers will be verified for language, form and content by one reviewer (or two if rejection or change of presentation mode are considered). All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings subject to conference attendance of at least one of the authors and acceptance of the terms of the Proceedings Publication Licence (CC BY). The Proceedings will be published in a Special Issue of IOP's Journal of Physic's Conference Series, indexed in ISI Web of Science, Scopus, EI Compendex etc. IOP Publishers reserve the right to exclude a paper if considered inappropriate.
Papers will be presented during oral and poster sessions. A preliminary decision as to the relevant session type will be made by the scientific committee on the basis of the abstract, to be confirmed after review of the final paper. Within the poster exhibition there will be space available for software presentations. The conference organisers will do their utmost to give good exposure to posters.
The official conference language is English.
Authors are notified regarding the acceptance of their abstract for an oral or a poster presentation by 15 March 2019. The deadline for submission of the full paper is 15 May 2019.
By submitting a full paper the authors agree that at least one of the authors will attend the conference to present it. They also agree that the paper can be made available as part of the proceedings on paper, electronic supports and the internet. Authors will sign a CC-BY licence agreement in which they certify among other that the paper contains their original work, which has not been published before.
Authors are requested to register for the conference when submitting the paper. The conference fee will be fully refunded should a paper be refused.
A pre-version of the proceedings will be available at the conference on a USB stick, which will be distributed to all conference participants. Accepted papers will be published online in a CISBAT 2019 Special Issue of IOP's Journal of Physics Conference Series, an open access and widely indexed publication. Open access publication is scheduled for 31 October 2019 at the latest.
